LEADERSHIP TEAM
The foundation for Trio Clinical Research extends back to 1995 when Faye Woolf and Betsy Brown co-founded The Woolf Group.  The Woolf Group was one of the first companies to specialize in providing clinical research professionals (CRPs) on an as needed basis solely to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.  During their tenure at the Woolf Group, the company placed approximately 1,000 CRPs with over 50 companies nationwide. In 2003, the two co-founded Trio Clinical Research. To date, Trio has placed more than 1,500 CRPs.
 

Betsy Brown, President

Ms. Brown began her career in clinical research in 1985 working for an international non-profit organization specializing in Women’s Health and HIV research.  In 1987, she joined a large international CRO as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA).  Over the course of her nine year tenure with the company, she advanced into management-level positions beginning with spearheading resourcing for Clinical Monitoring and culminating with the position of Associate Director where she oversaw and directed the activities for the US Clinical Monitoring team.  Ms. Brown was a co-founder and principal of the Woolf Group and played an integral role in growing the company into a premier clinical research staffing organization.  Ms. Brown brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as President of Trio Clinical Research..
 

Kurt Mussina, Senior Vice President

Mr. Mussina has over 22 years of international pharmaceutical business experience and a proven track record building global sales and marketing organizations in the CRO industry. His executive experience spans operating and technical functions, including management of international sales teams responsible for delivering hundreds of millions of dollars in profitable contracts.  Mr. Mussina is especially experienced in all areas of CRO sales and marketing, including brand development, sales team management and client relationship rescues.  In his role as Sr. Vice President, Mr. Mussina is responsible for ensuring mutually beneficial business relationships with Trio’s clients.  Mr. Mussina holds a BS in Chemistry from Montclair State University and a MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
